New Year's Day in the Park

What better way to ring in the new year than a ride through Bidwell Park.  Both girls got new bikes for Christmas so we wanted to break them in.....Could Jill's bike be any cuter???

And really, there is no place so wonderful to ride as the miles and miles in Bidwell Park.  We are so lucky....

And no trip to Bidwell is complete without playing in the creek.  Even when it is only 50 degrees out, these girls love water.  They constructed a bridge for over an hour while hane and I sat in the sun and planned our upcoming trips....Death Valley, Southern Utah and the Northern Rockies......YAY!!!

Day with Daddy - BMX obstacle course

Our bike ride through Bidwell Park was very, very fun...but we came away with one very clear plan....Jill had to learn how to keep straight and Alli should learn how to turn slowly on gravel/mud.

I was going cross country skiing with a friend so Shane decided that he would take the girls to the little BMX park at the end of our bike path.  We are lucky to have a bike path right at the end of our street and it is exactly one mile to the BMX park at the end....

He brought our cones and planned some course work, like braking and turning.  It was the best idea ever.  Just the next day we took them back through Bidwell Park on their bikes and they were in so much more control.  What a great, great idea Shaner!!  Oh and I had a great time skiing....it isnt often I get away alone....
